Why do we like to stare into a child’s eyes, like those in this picture? I think it is because we see and feel the simple nature of joy. There is so much bliss, purity, mindfulness, and so much eagerness to receive. As Sister Wendy said, “…flashes suddenly upon our darkness…joy does not merely illuminate our interior landscape, it transforms it. The world becomes different, marvelous and unique.”
