A Night at the San Francisco City Hall

If I have to name the most beautiful building in San Francisco – it will be the City Hall – it has both external and inner beauty!

A talk organized by Berkeley for the alumni about Internet: Utopia vs. Dystopia took me back there last Friday evening. The historic building re-opened in 1915 after the original one was destroyed in the 1906 Earthquake. I have just realized its dome is the fifth largest in the world and its architecture is the Parisien Beaux-Arts.

Here are the grand stairs leading to the second floor.

The large and beautiful dome

The second floor looks charming

This looks Parisien to me, too

Quite a modern set-up for an evening talk

Panelists from Facebook, Electronic Arts, Kaggle, Chaotic Moon, Berkeley Law and Wilson Sonsini

Every time I visit the City Hall, I have a fond experience. Envy the staff working here everyday. It is also open to the public and hosts community music and dance event – what a wonderful idea!
