Thinking of You – East and West

…which reminds me of a poem by one of the most famous ancient Chinese poets ever who lived during the Tang Dynasty, Li Bai:

In the Quiet Night – Li Bai

So bright a gleam on the foot of my bed –
Could there have been a frost already?
Lifting myself to look, I found that it was moonlight.
Sinking back again, I thought suddenly of home.

  1. Love this too. It made my heart smile. I often look up at the moon and wait a while, and it always brings me back to what’s important in life. And I had a friend who passed away when I was 18 and she would always say when she was away from her ma she would look at the moon and know her ma was looking at the same thing, and it brought her close to her. And so now I do the same, when I look at the moon, and think of her and others that aren’t by my side. It somehow brings you home. Thank you : ) x

    1. I really appreciate your comments. The feelings you have described exactly capture the mood from the poems. I do feel that the moon is like the mother who is looking after us and so looking at the moon especially reminds us of home. Warm wishes from simple cherishes.
